sdcc commissions

[listening to "please don't go" by boyz ii men]

so i've finally fully recovered from the con flu that took hold of me after i came back from San Diego. con flu sucks, in case u never had it. i've been to SDCC a couple times before, never came home with the sickness. but being behind my own table is a whole other beast.

having said all that though, it was AMAZING!!! everyone that came by the table was just as nice as could be. met some very important people who were admiring my work. had my very 1st portfolio review with Disney Feature Animation and it didn't suck! and my studio team made even more connections. all in all, the future looks bright and i can't wait to be a part of it.

now that SDCC is 3 weeks behind me, i've finally gotten all my pictures off my phone and onto the interwebs. above are the commissions that i did at the con. i've had such great commission requests lately but it's always an extra special treat to get to draw some character i come up with. so my favorite was the mermaid because the people who asked for it wanted a mix between the octopus lady on my artbook cover and the mermaid i drew before. been doing this new thing with color con commissions lately where i use my Derwent Inktense pencils to draw the lines instead of ink pens. i think it's helping me to achieve a look closer to what i do digitally.

all of my pictures from SDCC are on my Peng-Peng Art Facebook Page if u wanna check it out. follow this link to the album - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.804852459631693.1073741831.672802259503381&type=1&l=563cf29813

i'm doing a lot of personal work lately so i'm hoping to have more fun sketchy stuff to show u guys soon.  in the meantime, i'll be on instagram posting shenanigans, as always.

the gallery will be selling these prints exclusively so contact them to get yours. the event is FREE to anyone but they do ask to RSVP for the event. visit their Facebook event page for all important info - https://www.facebook.com/events/877140009000781/

SDCC 2015

[listening to "shots" by imagine dragons]

it's finally here! i've been doing a countdown & driving myself crazy with prep for San Diego Comic Con and it's finally here! i hope to post lots of awesome pics after the con, but i can't make any promises because i've never had a table at this show so i have no idea what to expect. wish me luck guys!
now i know Comic-Con is quite bananas, so here's a handy dandy map that gets U to ME as well as the other IDSTUDIOS guys - my hubby theFranchize and our best bud Flash! please come out and see me in Artist Alley AA-16! as u can tell, i am dangerously close to the Funko booth. it's like my money is gone before i even make it.

i'll have a brand new batch of my latest artbook - DAYDREAMS - along with large prints, mini prints, and comics. i'll also have the last of my licensed How to Train Your Dragon 2 lithograph from Acme Archives Direct - UNCHARTED TERRITORY. once these are gone, i have no more. so be sure to get there early and get it.

since table space at Comic-Con is so very limited, i'm only going to be able to display a few prints. but i'll have this print "menu" of all the 11x17 prints that i have available. if u come by my table, see one on the menu that's not on the table, just let me know and i'll grab it for ya! i'm just trying to make it easy on everyone. fyi - i have a very small amount of Lady Loki. trying to retire her so once she's gone, that's it for her. gotta make room for new stuff. =)

then on THURSDAY NIGHT, i'll be part of the "What's Pin-Up Doc?" exhibit with a few of my fellow Girls Drawin Girls ladies at the Chuck Jones Gallery across from the convention center. the event is from 7p-10p. it's totally FREE but u just have to RSVP. so pls consider coming out. i'm just excited to have my work exhibited in the same room as Chuck Mother-F-in Jones! (Mother-F-in may or may not be his real middle name. i can neither confirm nor deny that.) this promo image was done by my crazy-talented friend & GDG member Mako Fufu!
head on over to the Chuck Jones Gallery Event Page to get more info - https://www.facebook.com/events/877140009000781/

grinch cartoon

[listening to "the whisperer" by david guetta ft. sia]

San Diego Comic Con prep is in full swing and i'm a little less freaked out and more just anxious now. i just wanna be done with prep and just BE THERE.

one of the cool things i get to be a part of this year is that the Girls Drawin Girls group is doing an exhibit with the Chuck Jones Gallery in San Diego Thursday evening of comic-con (7pm-10pm). it's called "What's Pin-Up, Doc?" due to unfortunate oversight, i didn't know until super late that i was one of the girls chosen to exhibit but i whipped up a Grinch-inspired pin-up just in time anyways. BUT only after turning it in, i found out we can't use any Dr. Seuss/Chuck Jones stuff. so i did a brand new one in 2 days - like a boss! i don't wanna show the one that's gonna be used just yet. however, since the Grinch one isn't being used, no harm in showing u guys!

took me some time to figure out how to make a pin-up piece from the Grinch cartoon without it looking inappropriate. but i spotted this one Who lady in Whoville with a cool pink mohawk and pink & yellow dress, so i had to draw her. this Who had style! maybe i'll use it for something else later.

now, back to getting stuff ready for the con of all cons!

pirate chick

[listening to "dangerous" by david guetta ft. sam martin]

forgot to post this last of my latest commission requests. this is of this cool lady who i see at cons sometimes. she plays a cool pirate chick on a Disney cruise line and she asked me to draw her character. an awesome pink pirate lady - definitely!! had such a blast drawing this one. i tell ya, i've been getting some of the best commission requests lately!
